Causes
Gum disease, which is also known as periodontal disease and periodontitis, is a progressive disease that, if left untreated, can lead to tooth loss. Gum disease begins with the inflammation and irritation of the gingival tissues that surround and support the teeth. The cause of this inflammation is the toxins found in plaque that cause a bacterial infection.

Symptoms
There are also other symptoms that may be indicative of suffering from this periodontal disease:
zGum retraction: los dientes se ven cada vez más largos, llegando incluso a verse la raíz del diente.
- Dental mobility: the teeth grow more and more sensitive and with greater mobility, it seems that they are not permanent. This symptom is due to the fact that the disease begins to affect the bone and the teeth lose part of their support system.
- Space between the teeth: : the gum disappears between the teeth leaving “black holes” in between them.
- Fanning of the antero-upper teeth.
- Teeth sensitive to cold: by gingival retraction.
- Bad breath.
- Gums inflamed and with a bright red appearance.
- Increased sensitivity of the gums.
